A multinational small captive power plant solution provider wanted to improve:
  • its project delivery lead-time vis a vis its competitor, and
  • profitability margins on project execution services.
Solution/Service

The past project performance was assessed to identify the critical success factors affecting project lead times. Based on the findings, both tactical as well as strategic solution was implemented.  At the tactical level project schedules were standardized using scheduling best practices, challenging the interdependencies as well as improving manageability and control of the schedule plans.

Along with this, an IT enablement approach was designed and developed to facilitate improved communication and decision making. To improve the sustainability of this initiative, all the project managers in the organization were trained on international PM standards and this supported them to become PMP certified professionals.

The result of the solution resulted in reducing project lead times by 25% along with improvement in margins by 15%.
